The Saudi Ministry of Commerce has announced a significant expansion in the local franchise market, with registrations climbing by 53 percent during the first nine months of 2026. Data indicates that the total count of registered franchises grew from 4,227 at the close of 2025 to 6,484 by the end of the third quarter of 2026. Key industries driving this upward trend include the food and beverage sector, fuel and petroleum services, and the fashion industry. Government officials attribute this growth to the Commercial Franchise Law, which provides a regulatory framework designed to increase market transparency, safeguard the interests of all stakeholders, and foster a more appealing investment climate. These legislative efforts are intended to enhance service quality and ensure the long-term sustainability and development of the national franchise ecosystem.
