A fatal accident occurred on September 8 in Lampang's Thoen district when a 100-kilogram boulder detached from a cliffside. The rock struck a moving Isuzu pickup truck traveling along Highway 106, penetrating the roof directly above the driver's seat. Local authorities, including police and medical personnel from Thoen Hospital, were dispatched to the site in Na Pong subdistrict following a report at approximately 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the vehicle positioned in the center of the road with the victim trapped inside the heavily damaged cabin. The 42-year-old driver succumbed to injuries sustained during the impact. Rescue teams and disaster mitigation officials managed the scene to recover the body and clear the debris from the thoroughfare.
