Uzbekistan is preparing to adopt the Barnahus framework, a specialized multidisciplinary system designed to support children who have experienced or witnessed violence. Originating in Iceland in 1998, the model focuses on creating child-friendly environments through the collaboration of legal, psychological, and social services. A recent meeting held in the country brought together representatives from the Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement, judicial bodies, and various experts to evaluate the implementation of this approach. During the session, participants reviewed existing child protection strategies and explored how to integrate the Barnahus methodology into the national system. International specialists shared their expertise on the model’s operational features, aiming to enhance the protection of minors' rights and interests through improved interagency cooperation.
