A 77-year-old woman has died after a fire broke out in a sixth-floor apartment at Block 126 Pending Road in Bukit Panjang. The Singapore Civil Defence Force received reports of the blaze at approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 28. Upon reaching the scene, emergency responders observed thick smoke emanating from the unit. Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames, which were concentrated in the living area, and discovered an unconscious individual inside. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed by paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Additionally, a 62-year-old male resident from an adjacent unit required medical evaluation due to smoke inhalation. The Singapore Police Force has confirmed the occurrence of the incident.
