The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the operating license of Seven Seas Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. in Delhi after an inspection revealed critical hygiene failures. Officials discovered moldy produce, degraded cooking oil, and pest infestations, including cockroaches and flies, within the hotel's kitchen. The facility also exhibited poor infrastructure, such as leaking refrigeration and improper storage of meat and vegetarian products. Due to a low compliance score of 30 percent, authorities destroyed 74 kilograms of contaminated food items on-site and ordered the immediate cessation of all business activities. This enforcement action aligns with a broader nationwide trend of increased regulatory scrutiny, which has recently led to significant food seizures and license suspensions across various Indian states, including extensive operations conducted by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration.
