This first incident lasted for over four hours, prompting the utility provider to dispatch technical teams and mobile generators to the site to facilitate emergency repairs and restore service. The incident highlights ongoing challenges for the regional power supplier, which manages electricity distribution across Kowloon and the New Territories. Authorities are currently addressing the equipment malfunction that triggered the overnight blackout, as residents and hospitality businesses in the affected area dealt with the resulting service interruptions.
