The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) is set to examine appeals from three inmates at Adiala jail who are requesting medical treatment at private facilities. This hearing, scheduled for September 14, follows a previous rejection of their petitions by the Islamabad High Court. The petitioners are seeking the same medical access previously granted to former Prime Minister Imran Khan. A three-judge panel, led by Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and including Justices Aamer Farooq and Ali Baqar Najafi, will preside over the proceedings. This session coincides with the commencement of the new judicial year. The upcoming hearing occurs shortly before the Supreme Court addresses a separate contempt petition concerning the alleged failure to transfer Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital as per an earlier judicial directive.
