A recent public opinion poll conducted by Tangere indicates that 54 percent of Filipinos support the exclusion of senators who are unable to attend the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte from the final vote count. This group includes lawmakers who are currently detained, in hiding, or traveling abroad. Furthermore, the survey reveals that 53 percent of participants back a proposal to recalibrate the required two-thirds majority threshold based solely on the number of senators currently present and active. In this scenario, if four senators were unavailable, the voting requirement would be adjusted to reflect the 20 remaining members. While a significant portion of the public supports these procedural adjustments, 30 percent of respondents expressed opposition to the idea, and 16 percent remained uncertain regarding the matter.
