Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah, the former head of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has issued a formal condemnation regarding recent Houthi strikes directed at Saudi Arabia. The Qatari Minister of State characterized these military actions as a direct infringement upon the kingdom’s sovereignty and regional stability. Al-Attiyah specifically highlighted the targeting of Makkah and Madinah, labeling such acts as a profound disrespect toward Islamic holy sites. Furthermore, he emphasized that assaults on Saudi civilians jeopardize the collective security framework of all GCC nations. According to the former official, these provocations undermine the long-standing progress achieved through regional cooperation and solidarity, posing a significant threat to the ongoing peace and stability of the entire Gulf area.
