During a High Court trial regarding the 2010 disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda, a witness identified as Sumathipala Suresh Kumar provided testimony on Friday. Kumar, a former member of the LTTE, stated that he shared a close, brotherly bond with Ekneligoda during his time with the organization. Under questioning from defense counsel Asith Siriwardana, the witness confirmed he had disclosed this association to high-ranking LTTE officials, specifically naming Tamilselvan, Gnanavel, and Pottu Amman. Kumar also noted that he had previously provided statements concerning these interactions. The proceedings are part of an ongoing legal effort to uncover details surrounding the abduction and enforced disappearance of Ekneligoda, who vanished over a decade ago.
