Initially convicted in May 2025 for sexual assault and rape offenses occurring in 2021, Panfilov received a sentence of over eleven years and corporal punishment. He had previously spent time in custody after a failed attempt to depart Singapore led to his bail being rescinded. Following a successful appeal that overturned his conviction, Panfilov described his experience as a transition through various cinematic genres, ranging from lighthearted narratives to intense courtroom proceedings. He expressed gratitude toward his family for their steadfast support throughout the legal process. Looking forward, the former actor noted that his time behind bars provided him with significant life lessons, allowing him to focus on personal growth and his future beyond the judicial system.
