Ishwari Devi Neupane, a veteran figure within the Nepali Congress, has officially declared her intention to contest for the role of joint general secretary during the party's upcoming 15th General Convention. Neupane, who previously served as the chief whip for the party's parliamentary wing and led the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, highlighted her extensive background in organizational development and democratic advocacy. Throughout her career, she has been elected as a central committee member on three separate occasions. In her announcement, Neupane emphasized her dedication to enhancing the party's public standing and fostering deeper connections with the citizenry. She stated that her primary objective is to transform the Nepali Congress into a more robust and reliable political entity, leveraging her experience in both legislative and internal party affairs to achieve these institutional goals.
