French Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin has praised the collaborative efforts between France and the United Arab Emirates in addressing organized crime. Speaking on the sidelines of a recent international event, Mr. Darmanin emphasized that the bilateral cooperation against drug trafficking, money laundering, and illicit financial networks involving cryptocurrencies and real estate serves as an exemplary framework. He proposed that this partnership could act as a blueprint for the Abu Dhabi Declaration, an initiative aimed at strengthening global criminal justice and the rule of law through 2031. The minister advocated for the replication of these joint strategies at a multilateral level, focusing specifically on dismantling trafficking operations and the systematic seizure of criminal assets. This model highlights the importance of international synergy in tackling complex financial crimes and modern criminal enterprises.
