During their 29th session held in Manama, media ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations reached a consensus on the necessity of stricter monitoring of media outlets and digital platforms. The officials, including Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary, emphasized the importance of documenting violations and ensuring that offenders face legal consequences. According to the joint statement, these actions will be executed through existing national laws and established GCC regulations within each member state. The ministers collectively affirmed their commitment to protecting regional unity, explicitly rejecting any content intended to compromise the cohesion of the Gulf countries. This initiative marks a coordinated effort to enforce professional standards and accountability across the regional media landscape, utilizing the legal frameworks currently in place within each participating nation to address non-compliance effectively.
