Ho Chi Minh City authorities have announced a strategic plan to eliminate 28 significant traffic congestion points by 2030. According to the Department of Transport, this initiative is a critical component of a broader effort to improve regional connectivity and support the city's growing population. Key infrastructure projects, including the An Phu and My Thuy interchanges, are currently being prioritized. Beyond addressing immediate bottlenecks, the city is focusing on completing essential ring roads and expressways. Furthermore, officials emphasize that expanding the urban metro network to 1,500 kilometers remains the long-term solution for a city projected to reach 25 million residents. To facilitate these developments, the government has implemented special administrative mechanisms to enhance resource mobilization and project autonomy. These efforts aim to resolve persistent transport challenges that currently hinder economic growth and daily mobility for the city's inhabitants.
