The Hong Kong Airport Authority is set to assume control of the 11 Skies commercial development next April following an agreement with developer New World Development. Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan confirmed that the government intends to transform the site into a high-end tourism landmark. Officials aim to achieve this transition with minimal reliance on public funding. The project, which was previously managed by the private developer, will be reshaped to better align with the city's strategic goals for the aviation and tourism sectors. This handover marks a significant shift in the management of the major commercial complex located near the airport, as authorities look to leverage the space to enhance the region's appeal to international visitors.
