Authorities have launched a search of Toyama City Hall following reports that local population figures were intentionally inflated. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications identified a discrepancy of at least 2,000 individuals in the city's official census records. Preliminary findings suggest that municipal employees may have participated in the falsification of these demographic statistics. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the extent of the administrative misconduct and the potential involvement of city staff in reporting inaccurate data to the central government.
