Picasso Hair Studio, a Singaporean salon with locations in Bugis and Novena, has addressed its involvement in a fake review scandal. The business was among 45 entities identified by the Competition & Consumer Commission of Singapore for acquiring fraudulent testimonials. Following a mandatory public apology, the studio stated that employees acted without management's consent to manipulate performance metrics. According to the company, staff members independently purchased the reviews to qualify for quarterly financial incentives, which are partially determined by customer feedback. The salon expressed surprise at the findings and committed to removing the deceptive content as required by the consumer watchdog. This incident highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to maintain transparency in digital commerce and protect consumers from misleading marketing practices.
