According to a report by Time magazine, US President Donald Trump utilized Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, to analyze the potential public reaction in Venezuela prior to ordering a military operation against Nicolas Maduro. During a private meeting in December 2025, Trump inquired about the consequences of capturing the Venezuelan leader. Grok characterized Maduro as an unpopular figure, suggesting that his removal would be welcomed by many citizens. Following this interaction, Trump authorized a mission in January 2026 that resulted in the detention of Maduro and his spouse in Caracas. The couple was subsequently transported to New York to face federal drug trafficking allegations. Officials noted that Trump viewed the AI's assessment as highly accurate after observing the public response to the operation.
