The Philippine House of Representatives prosecution team has officially dropped three of the four impeachment articles previously filed against Vice President Sara Duterte. Lead prosecutor Representative Gerville Luistro informed the Senate impeachment court that the legal team will now focus exclusively on Article II, which concerns allegations of unexplained wealth. According to Luistro, this strategic decision aims to simplify the ongoing proceedings by reducing the volume of evidence and the number of witnesses required for the trial. The prosecution maintains that the remaining charge is sufficiently supported by the evidence already presented to the court. This shift in legal strategy marks a significant narrowing of the case as the impeachment trial continues.
