Iranian officials have strongly criticized the recent adoption of a Western-backed resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors. Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi argued that the resolution utilizes disruptions in nuclear facility verification, caused by external attacks, as a pretext for political maneuvering. He asserted that such measures will fail to achieve their intended objectives. Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the move to refer Iran's nuclear file to the UN Security Council, labeling the decision as baseless and contradictory. Baghaei maintained that Iran has remained in compliance with its obligations, rendering any escalation to the Security Council irrelevant and ineffective. Tehran continues to reject the resolution, characterizing it as a politically driven attempt to exert pressure rather than a legitimate concern regarding nuclear transparency.
