Hassan Qashqavi, a spokesperson for the Iranian Parliamentās National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has stated that Iranās seven conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are fixed and cannot be altered. He emphasized that these requirements were established by top leadership and must be met in full before any action is taken regarding the strait. Qashqavi noted that while Qatar has relayed a response from Washington, the U.S. proposal incorrectly suggests a gradual implementation of conditions after the strait is opened, a sequence Tehran rejects. The lawmaker highlighted that the current seven-day proposal merely accelerates the timeline of a previous framework without changing its core substance. Furthermore, Qashqavi expressed skepticism regarding U.S. requests for nuclear negotiations, citing inconsistencies in American rhetoric, and placed the responsibility on Washington to demonstrate a commitment to its agreements amidst its own domestic political challenges.
