The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-Elcac) announced that 28,415 villages across 60 provinces in the Philippines have officially reached Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) status. This milestone is part of a broader government initiative aimed at reducing communist insurgency while fostering development in areas previously impacted by conflict. Deputy Director Rodrigo Lutao shared these findings during a workshop focused on the National Action Plan for Unity, Peace and Development held for Mindanao stakeholders. The event included representatives from various regions, including BARMM and the Caraga region. According to the task force, a significant portion of these villages, specifically 21,614 across 45 provinces, have successfully maintained this secure status as part of ongoing efforts to stabilize rural communities nationwide.
