An Istanbul criminal court has mandated the shutdown of the independent news platform T24, citing the publication of content labeled as LGBT propaganda. The legal action is part of a broader investigation titled "My Family Is Safe," which has recently targeted various activists, journalists, and online organizations. According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the decision was issued on September 29 and officially communicated to the news outlet via the Cyber Security Presidency. The Information and Communication Technologies Authority has enforced the access-blocking order under Article 8/A of Turkey’s internet legislation, requiring the immediate cessation of the website and its associated social media profiles. This development represents a notable intensification of government efforts to restrict digital content related to LGBTQ rights within the country.
