The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) of Nepal has formally protested the Lumbini Province Assembly Secretariat's move to remove Ambika Kafle from her legislative position. Party officials labeled the dismissal as unconstitutional and based on fraudulent documentation. According to the JSP, the assembly relied on forged papers and unauthorized signatures to justify the action, which the party claims undermines parliamentary norms. The dispute stems from a prior internal conflict where the JSP expelled several members for defying a party whip during a confidence vote for Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya. The party asserts that the documents submitted to the assembly were falsified by individuals no longer affiliated with the organization. Consequently, the JSP has requested an immediate reversal of the decision, called for an impartial investigation into the alleged forgery, and notified the Election Commission while preparing to pursue further legal action to protect its parliamentary standing.
