The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has penalized a grocery business in Kageshwari Manohara Municipality for overcharging customers for liquefied petroleum gas. Anil Kirana Pasal, located in Chakadol, was discovered selling Sugam gas cylinders for Rs 2,600, significantly exceeding the government-mandated price of Rs 2,060. Following an investigation on Thursday, officials confirmed the violation of consumer pricing regulations. Consequently, the shop was issued a fine of Rs 300,000. This enforcement action was carried out in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act of 2018 and the associated 2019 regulations, which prohibit retailers from engaging in fraudulent pricing practices that exploit the public.
