The Bureau of Customs has introduced specialized X-ray screening lanes specifically for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1 and 3, alongside Clark International Airport. Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno stated that these dedicated channels are designed to enhance passenger movement, reduce congestion, and expedite baggage inspection procedures. While these lanes prioritize efficiency for returning and departing workers, the agency maintains that all standard security protocols and customs regulations remain strictly in effect. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to acknowledge the significant economic contributions of OFWs. The Bureau of Customs intends to roll out similar dedicated processing lanes across other international airports and passenger terminals throughout the Philippines in the near future to ensure a more organized experience for these travelers.
