Authorities have taken Satkhira-4 Member of Parliament Gazi Nazrul Islam and his first wife, Maksuda Begum, into custody regarding the death of his second wife, Mariam Khatun. The victim was discovered hanging inside a residence at the NAM Bhaban complex in Dhaka. Following the discovery, the deceased's father, Masum Billah, initiated legal proceedings at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, alleging that the suspects abetted the suicide. Alongside the politician and his spouse, Mariam's maternal uncle, Obaidur Rahman, has also been implicated in the case. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy to determine the extent of the involvement of those named in the complaint.
