Zhang Han stated that the address ignored historical realities and aimed to deceive the public. According to the official, Lai maintained a separatist stance, promoted a narrative centered on the conflict between democracy and authoritarianism, and attempted to amplify perceptions of a mainland threat. The statement further accused the Taiwan leader of seeking independence by leveraging military development and support from international partners. Beijing maintains that these actions are driven by hidden agendas that undermine regional stability.
