Two prominent delivery service providers have initiated legal action against Thailand’s Trade Competition Commission (TCCT) regarding new regulatory proposals. The companies contend that the commission has overstepped its authority by mandating that platforms explain their commission fee structures and provide justification for any future price hikes. The contested regulations, which were recently approved in draft form, target platforms generating annual sales of 500 million baht or more. These firms would be required to disclose the methodology behind their gross profit fees and submit evidence to support any increases. Currently, these proposed rules are undergoing a public consultation period that concludes on November 20. The delivery giants argue that these requirements impose excessive oversight on their business operations, prompting them to seek judicial intervention to contest the regulator's mandate.
