The Democratic Party of South Korea has officially requested that the government defer the introduction of a new tax on digital assets, which was scheduled to begin next year. During a supreme council meeting, party leader Kim Min-seok explained that the postponement is intended to provide investors and businesses with sufficient time to adapt to the regulatory changes. The party emphasized that establishing a comprehensive legal framework, specifically through the Digital Asset Basic Act, should take priority over immediate taxation. By delaying the implementation, the party aims to ensure a more structured and stable environment for the cryptocurrency market before introducing fiscal measures.
