The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) has announced its readiness to provide air support to the Ministry of Health for the Flying Doctor Service. This initiative follows a recent helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Sarawak, which disrupted medical access in isolated regions. General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman confirmed that the military possesses the necessary helicopters and infrastructure to assist with emergency medical evacuations. The MAF intends to bridge service gaps in hard-to-reach areas during this period of operational difficulty. Military leadership stated that they are prepared to mobilize assets immediately upon receiving an official request from the health ministry, ensuring that critical medical assistance continues to reach remote communities without further interruption.
