Agriculture, Forestry and Environment Minister Geeta Chaudhary has announced that the government intends to offer policy and technical assistance to bolster the cultivation and promotion of native flowers. Speaking at the opening of the Tihar Flora Expo 2083 in Kathmandu, organized by the Nursery Entrepreneurs’ Association Nepal, the Minister emphasized the importance of increasing the domestic production and consumption of local floral varieties. She noted that such exhibitions are essential for connecting local growers with consumers and expanding the market reach for Nepali floral products. Given the significance of flowers in the Tihar festival, Minister Chaudhary highlighted that the government is dedicated to the growth and professionalization of the nursery industry, aiming to ensure it extends beyond seasonal demand.
