The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) of Sri Lanka has released a series of Level-1 landslide warnings covering specific regions within the Colombo, Kalutara, and Kegalle districts. These yellow-level alerts are scheduled to remain in effect until 10:00 a.m. on September 16. The affected areas include Seethawaka in Colombo, several divisions in Kalutara such as Ingiriya and Mathugama, and the Warakapola and Ruwanwella divisions in Kegalle. Authorities have advised local residents to monitor their surroundings closely for signs of geological instability, including shifting earth, falling rocks, structural cracks in buildings, or collapsing trees. In the event of an emergency or signs of an imminent landslide, individuals are encouraged to evacuate their premises immediately to ensure their safety.
