The Nepalese hospitality sector is experiencing a gradual recovery one year after the Gen Z protests of September 2025, which resulted in significant destruction. According to the Hotel Association Nepal, approximately 24 hotels sustained fire or structural damage during the unrest, leading to estimated financial losses of Rs 25 billion. Treasurer Yubaraj Shrestha confirmed that while many establishments have successfully resumed operations or are nearing the completion of their repairs, some properties, including the Hilton, remain under reconstruction. The industry's path to restoration has been supported by government initiatives aimed at stabilizing the business climate. Following the conclusion of peaceful elections and the formation of a new administration, stakeholders in the tourism sector have expressed renewed optimism regarding the long-term stability and growth of the industry.
