Nepal's Industry Minister, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has stepped down from her position following backlash over comments regarding the national liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) shortage. During a Parliamentary Industry Committee session, Yadav accused gas entrepreneurs of causing supply issues and suggested that the government needed to impose stricter regulations. She further proposed revoking the licenses of all 58 existing LPG firms, claiming that only two companies were necessary for the country. These statements triggered significant opposition from industry representatives, who formally complained to the Prime Minister. Following the mounting pressure, Yadav submitted her resignation to Prime Minister Balen Shah, as confirmed by her communications office.
