The Nepalese government has commenced the development of a project proposal to access twenty million dollars from the international Loss and Damage Fund. This follows the fund's decision to allocate 21.6 million dollars to the nation, contingent upon the submission of a formal project plan. Dr. Maheshwar Dhakal, representing the Ministry of Forests and Environment, stated that the preliminary drafting process is currently underway and is scheduled for completion by mid-December. Because Nepal is ineligible to apply directly to the fund, authorities are actively evaluating potential national or international partner organizations to serve as the project's implementing body. This initiative aims to secure financial support to address climate-related impacts, with officials currently balancing the creation of the proposal alongside the selection of a qualified partner to manage the project's execution.
