The Nepalese Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has officially prohibited the screening of the Indian film Udta Teer. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, the spy comedy directed by Aakash Kaushik was originally slated for a Friday release through the National Cine Group. Authorities cited Section 8(3) of the 1963 Film Act, which restricts content deemed harmful to the nation's interests. According to industry critic Samipyaraj Timilsina, the Central Film Censor Board rejected the movie due to its narrative focus on geopolitical friction between India and Pakistan. Nepal maintains regulatory frameworks that allow for the banning of cinematic works that could potentially damage the country's reputation or diplomatic standing.
