The Supreme Court of Nepal has finished hearing the habeas corpus petition submitted by the wife of businessman Durga Prasai. Justices Hariprasad Phuyal and Meghraj Pokharel presided over the session. State attorneys challenged the necessity of the writ, noting that legal proceedings concerning violations of the Electronic Transactions Act have already commenced at the district court level. Consequently, the Supreme Court determined that it would not move forward with the habeas corpus request, as the matter is now under the jurisdiction of the district court. Previously, the court had requested documentation regarding the investigation and remand extensions related to the charges brought by the Cyber Bureau. With the conclusion of this hearing, the legal focus shifts to the ongoing district court case.
