The session was convened by Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma following the public disclosure of private WhatsApp communications involving himself and Justice Hari Phuyal. These revelations have sparked significant scrutiny regarding judicial conduct. The situation has also drawn political attention, with the Rastriya Swatantra Party previously considering an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice before stepping back from the matter. Court administration officials indicated that the meeting is expected to persist through the morning, with normal operations resuming only after the justices conclude their deliberations.
