Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has urged the government to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation into the incidents of violence that transpired on September 8 and 9. In a message delivered on BP Memorial Day, Thapa emphasized the need to identify and take action against all individuals involved. While acknowledging that his own home was set on fire on September 9, he underscored that the suffering of young people killed or injured in the events was far more significant than his personal hardship. Thapa called for the identification of those responsible for the state's forceful response to a peaceful demonstration on September 8, 2025, as well as those who infiltrated the protest to incite violence. He also demanded a full inquiry into the destruction of public property, including Singha Durbar and court buildings, on September 9, 2025.
