The government of Nepal has announced a budget of 250 million rupees to establish a 'Buddha Circuit' in the Kavrepalanchok district. This initiative aims to link the historic town of Panauti with Namobuddha and Temal to boost regional tourism. During the initial phase, 100 million rupees will be dedicated to developing infrastructure and cultural sites along the eight-kilometre road connecting Panauti and Namobuddha. Planned improvements include the installation of statues, prayer wheels, and chaityas, alongside informational displays showcasing traditional Thangka art. According to lawmaker Madhu Chaulagain, the project is designed to transform the route into a significant heritage-focused tourist destination by highlighting sites associated with Lord Buddha.
