A recent survey conducted by Gündemar Research indicates that the newly formed New Party has moved ahead of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP). According to data reported by Velev, the opposition group secured 30.64 percent of support in September, compared to 28.24 percent for the ruling AKP. The New Party was established in July by Özgür Özel following his departure from the Republican People’s Party alongside 90 other parliamentarians. This shift in voter sentiment, which accounts for the distribution of undecided and protest votes, marks a notable change in the political landscape. While the New Party experienced a significant rise in popularity, the AKP saw a slight decline in its standing compared to the previous month's figures.
