The expansion of Dhaka's metro rail network toward Kamalapur Railway Station has reached 85 percent completion, with operations expected to commence this July. Commuters currently face logistical challenges when traveling between the existing Motijheel terminus and the railway station, often relying on secondary transport like auto-rickshaws. This transition adds both financial costs and time delays for passengers traveling to distant regions. For instance, travelers moving from Farmgate to Kamalapur find the current fragmented route inefficient compared to a direct rail connection. The upcoming extension aims to streamline these journeys, significantly reducing travel time and expenses for the public by integrating the metro system directly with the central railway hub.
