A one-year-old boy suffered a severed fingertip during a medical procedure at Somdet Phra Yuppharat Loeng Nok Tha Hospital in Yasothon. The incident occurred on September 11 as the child was being prepared for discharge following a hospital stay that began on September 1. While the mother was present, a nursing assistant attempted to remove gauze securing an intravenous line using scissors. During this process, the assistant accidentally cut off the tip of the toddler's right index finger. The child was subsequently required to undergo emergency surgery to reattach the digit. The father reported the details of the accident, noting that the injury took place while he was moving personal belongings to their vehicle. Hospital authorities have been alerted to the situation following the traumatic event.
