The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan recently partnered with the Journalist Retraining Centre to host a three-day media camp in the Parkent district. The event gathered 30 university students specializing in journalism, design, and filmmaking to enhance their digital literacy and fact-checking capabilities. Through workshops on digital hygiene and artificial intelligence, participants learned to identify misinformation and promote ethical content creation. The initiative aims to empower future media professionals to combat radicalization and prevent the spread of harmful narratives online. By fostering critical thinking and responsible digital behavior, the program seeks to improve the safety and transparency of the information landscape in Uzbekistan. Experts and students alike emphasized the necessity of professional ethics and accurate reporting in countering extremism and fostering social tolerance.
