Islamabad has officially dismissed claims from the Afghan Taliban regarding civilian fatalities resulting from recent Pakistani military actions. The government stated that these accusations lack evidence and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding its borders against threats emanating from Afghan territory. This stance follows precision strikes conducted by Pakistan last month, which targeted ten specific locations in response to unauthorized drone incursions into its airspace. Tensions between the two nations have escalated since October 2025, with Islamabad consistently accusing the Afghan authorities of providing sanctuary to militants responsible for cross-border attacks. Conversely, Kabul maintains that the ongoing security challenges are internal issues for Pakistan to resolve, denying any involvement in supporting insurgent groups. Pakistan maintains that it reserves the right to employ necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and citizens from external security threats.
