On October 24, 2026, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hosted the Singapore BusTech and RailTech Grand Challenges at ITE College West. This biennial event serves as a platform for students and industry professionals to demonstrate their technical expertise and propose creative solutions for modernizing public transit systems. Participants engaged in collaborative problem-solving to address current operational hurdles and explore the integration of new technologies. Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Jeffrey Siow attended the ceremony to distribute awards to the most successful teams. The initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Singapore Bus Academy, the Singapore Rail Academy, the National Transport Academy, and the NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute. These competitions are designed to foster a skilled workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of the nation's public transportation network.
