Emergency services in Hong Kong successfully retrieved two maintenance workers who were left suspended high above the ground on Monday evening. The individuals, aged 25 and 47, were performing cleaning duties on the exterior of Jardine House in the Central district when their mechanical platform experienced a sudden failure. The gondola reportedly dropped several meters before coming to a halt, leaving the pair hanging by their safety harnesses more than 30 storeys up. The incident was reported to authorities at approximately 6:16 PM. Firefighters arrived at the Connaught Road Central landmark to conduct the rescue operation. No injuries were reported as a result of the equipment malfunction. The workers were safely brought back inside the building after being stranded on the skyscraper's facade.
