The Sandiganbayan Third Division has officially rejected a motion filed by the Office of the Ombudsman to disqualify Associate Justice Ronald Moreno from the ongoing malversation trial involving former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. The case concerns a 92.8-million-peso flood control project in Bulacan that allegedly involved irregularities. Prosecutors had previously requested Moreno's inhibition, claiming his behavior toward witnesses was unprofessional and lacked judicial restraint. However, the court found these arguments insufficient to warrant his removal from the proceedings. Alongside Revilla, several officials and staff members from the Department of Public Works and Highways in Bulacan are named as respondents in this legal matter. The clerk of court confirmed the ruling, allowing Justice Moreno to continue overseeing the case.
